Make a Difference Where It's Needed Most

Every community deserves access to quality behavioral healthcare.

Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Therapist to join our Cherokee team and help individuals and families receive compassionate mental health services regardless of insurance status or life circumstances. As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality care while supporting every person's dignity, growth, and recovery.

If you're looking for meaningful clinical work where your experience truly makes an impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct behavioral health assessments and diagnostic interviews for children and adults.
  • Develop treatment plans and provide outpatient individual counseling.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric providers, case managers, peer support specialists, and other members of our multidisciplinary care team.
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide emergency behavioral health services when appropriate.
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with agency standards.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (additional compensation provided).
  • Provide clinical supervision hours for temporary licensed clinicians pursuing full licensure.

Why Plains Area Mental Health?

Our clinicians work within a collaborative system designed to help clients receive comprehensive care—not just therapy alone. You'll have direct access to psychiatric providers, community support services, and crisis resources that allow you to focus on quality clinical care.
